Here we are January 14th of the new year waiting on the big snow. The good news is that we have had a few decent snowfalls and the temperatures have been pretty low. We had bouts of maybe 2-4 inches fall here in town but at higher elevations, reports of 5-6 inches.
Early January, the club did go out and start rolling the trails, getting them packed to ride. This week, we are hearing reports of some good riding. Summit riders reported that they were able to groom south of Jackman. And Pittston Farm has been grooming also. State there could be some rough areas but they were pleased with the results.
There is some logging happening north of the clubhouse. You can take the lake trail to the clubhouse but you cannot ride west of US 201. The ITS trail east side of 201 to the border is open. Please be aware of signage. If it says “NO RIDING” stay clear.
This is a photo Heidi shared from her ride last week from Jackman to Pittston.
Looks pretty good to me.
