Sunset on the first day of Fall

Not only is Autumn the season for beautiful colors as the leaves change from green to red, orange, and gold, but it is also a time for colors in the sky.

I am not sure if it is because of where the sun now sets over the lake or if another reason but some of my best pictures are of sunsets in the fall.   I cannot help it. Every night is different and just incredible colors.   Please do not tire of me sharing sunsets pictures.

The other night, we got home from dinner around 730 and the sky was perfect.   I took 2 pictures. This one is real.   What I mean to say is that this is what the sky really looked like. I did not use any filters or enhancements.

This one is the same e moment but using a sunset filter. I think ithe is still pretty enough to share but I prefer the real thing.

More sunset pictures to come.

First of fall 2017 pictures

Warm days and cool evening, autumn is here and our colors are beginning to show.    I know this is one of my favorite seasons as the foliage comes to life with all the colors of orange, and gold, and red.    Here are a few from this weekend.

My favorite photography scene is Moose Point Tavern.

The reflections of Hog Island on the lake.

OK no foliage here but this is Sally Mountain/Sally Mountain.   A perfect reflection on the water with just a touch of fog along the shore.

As the season progresses, I hope to share more foliage pictures with you.  Or check out our facebook page also, as many go there too.  See you soon.

Kayak at sunset

It seems we have an Indian summer going on this weekend.  The days are clear with blue skies and sunny.  The temperatures are hitting almost 90 in the sun but our evenings are dropping into the 50s.

As always, the sunsets have been incredible on Big Wood.   This weekend, with the clear skies, just before it sets, it has cast an orange glow right over Hog Island on the waters.   We captured Sean taking an evening kayak ride.

Natural beauty

The end of summer is upon us and yet still, so much natural beauty surrounding us.  The only way to really do this is to hike the trails, ride the back woods or just open your eyes.

One of our guests found cold stream falls on their hike.   Cool clear waters and simple serenity.  A beautiful site!
