Last night, the JMRRCOC hosted Bob Marley for a night of out loud laughter. We had a fantastic turnout and I believe coming to Jackman has given him a lot more material for the future.
After the show, he hung around a while to meet people, sign tickets and CDs and give hugs. Cecilia, a guest staying with us, did not hesitate to get snapshot with him.
June 22
When we arrived on Friday, it was raining & according to the waitress at MAMMA BEARS DEN, we missed a hail storm that took out a kitchen window (good food). Saturday, we spent rafting the Dead River. It was great….Finished our day with Pizza from BISHOPS-really good-hot and fresh. At Tami-s encouragement, we drove 10 miles north @ about 8:30 to see moose-and we did-2 beautiful animals…so glad we came. Thank you ❗

…The ride here from Rockland was great. Matt and I came here to get some much needed rest from our daily lives ❗ …The cabins are great and the views are incre4dible. Sunday we saw 5 moose. I could not believe how close we were….

“The ATV trails in this region are fantastic. Even the bad spots are better than what we are used to riding” said Keith & Kim from Hollis. They had a group that came up for the weekend to ride. And even though the second day they went out was the day it POURED and even hailed here in Jackman, they were out all day then came back home and made a campfire. Warms my heart to see people enjoy the trails and the outdoors no matter what Mother Nature throws at them.
With the rain we have had the past week, Big wood waters have risen again.
This is a shot of George relaxing on our bench in our yard as he watched his son fishing on the dock at sunset.
Our fishermen this week said they were not getting as many bites as last week because the water was too high 😕 and yet some say this keeps the waters cool plus makes for better fishing so is it the fisherman ❓ Brian was doing well though right off our dock.
As for ATVing with the rain, some riders thought this was the best time as there was no dust and lots of mud to run through and others did not like getting rained on. I guess to each his own.
The weather is supposed be calm this week so I am sure the water will go down…again 🙂
Wow, yesterday was one incredible stormy day. We even had Hail in Jackman. This is a shot of my garden covered in hail. Luckily, all my plants were ok.
It is good to know that even with the kind of day we had, the group of ATVers here said they had a great time. “We just wore our rain gear and kept riding on ❗ “
