Ride a bike from Quebec to Florida?

Last evening, Carol and Dick "rolled" in to Cozy Cove Cabins on their bikes in need of a good nights rest. Their story: They flew to Quebec City from Northern California with only their bikes, a tent, I think a sleeping bag, and a few odds and ends as their luggage. Their goal is to bike to Florida for Thanksgiving. They say they did this twice before but I am not exactly sure if it is the same trip or just another LONG bike ride.
They headed out this morning and what you see in the picture above is all they are going with. What an incredible couple! I wish they could have spent more time here.
