Jackman Trail report 2-24

February 24, 2009 | 2 comments

Big snowstorm yesterday and these guys went out in it.

I am unsure of the totals as it continued to snow all day and into the night yesterday. Woke this morning to about 6+ inches of powdery snow. But with the wind, I cannot get an accurate measurement.

I talked to the guys this morning when they got back from breakfast and their report of the trails so far is:
...yesterday many of the trails were all not groomed yet when they first headed out but on the way back from Pittston Farm, they were and they were EXCELLENT They do not have this kind of trail conditions in PA. Yahoo
Now for the formal trail report from the Border Riders Club:
Tuesday, February 24, 2009 1:54 PM

Trails should be in great condition, just use caution, could still be icy in the corners.

ITS 89 North - Groomers went last night and will go tonight. Trails are great, use caution, they should be in decent shape.

ITS 89 South Groomer went last night and will go tonight. Trail conditions are very good.

ITS 88 to Rockwood Groomer went last night and will go tonight. Conditions are still good, reports are coming in favorable.

Border Riders North Groomer went last night and will go tonight. Is in very good condition.

In Town Trails Groomers went last night and will go tonight, they should be in good condition. Watch for icy corners.

Update on grooming, the 2000 New Holland is still in Sidney for repair, no word when it will be back. The grooming is still being completed in shifts remember to thank the drivers!

COMMENTS

Cozy Cove Cottages and hosts Tami and Steve provided our PA snowmobile with everything necessary for a fantastic time. They even ordered up some extra fluffy to make the trails a joy to explore.

Thank you for allowing us to share your hospitality and explore the great outdoors of Maine.

We logged 841 miles during our stay. Most of it was on well groomed trails, some time was spent in the deep stuff pulling fellow riders back to hard pack.

A great time had by all.

Many thanks,
Bob D

Tami and Steve, I just wanted to say thank you for taking such good care of us last week. We had a blast and I hope to come back next year! I didn’t get a chance to say good bye but I left a message on the board. I saw the web page blog with our pictures, what a motley looking crew. I hope Friday night, my guests were not too loud, if so, I apologize for there actions. Stay warm and hope to see you two next year. Tell Steve thanks as well. GO STEELERS!
