I received a comment asking when Bob Marley was coming to Jackman. I thought I had all of the information for you posted. I am sorry I did not.
He will be performing here on June 28th at 7PM. Go to the Chambers website at www.jackmanmaine.org for details. Tickets are on sale now as well as at the door on the day of the show. Get ready to LAUGH OUT LOUD ❗
The JMRRCOC is sponsoring a one night show with Bob Marley. If you are staying with us, give us a call and we will reserve the tickets for you. If not, contact the chamber of commerce for more details.
Should be a “funny” 😆 night ❗
We are needing your input:!:
The Jackman-Moose River Region Chamber of Commerce is trying to book Bob Marley to come to Jackman for a show. Our options for dates are minimal for this year as well as where we can have this. A Sunday in June may be the only option.
So what I am wondering, is how many of you would you consider coming to the region for a matine or evening show ❓ Would you prefer a matine or evening show ❓ Also, would you stay in town for that night if you could get a discount
❓ Leave us a comment.
You can catch a glimpse of who Bob Marley is on his website at http://www.bmarley.com/.
If and when we learn m,ore about this possibility, I will post more here. Stay tuned.
The Jackman sled dog club is hosting the Moose River Run this weekend. These races are not real easy to watch for spectators but there are places you can hike to to see them in action. OR hang at the clubhouse and talk to the racers while you drink a little cocoa.
For those of you who snowmobile, this trail behind the clubhouse will be closed this weekend due to the races.
Have a great weekend!
The Sans Frontiere Festival is scheduled for this weekend. I think I made an entry about this before but for those of you unfamiliar with it, it is a festival started many years ago between Jackman and St Theophile (?) Quebec. It is an Independence day celebration “”without borders.””
How it works is that on the odd years (like 2007) it is in Jackman and the even years it will be held in St Theophile. It is usually held the 1st weekend of July.
Of course the town of Jackman still has their 4th of July fun and fireworks on the 4th in addition to the festivals.
This year, a bulk of the festivities will be at Johns Campground where there will be booths of crafters and food, live bands, casino night on Saturday, games, a dunk tank, pony rides, horseshoe tournaments, open mike night and of course lots of fun for all.
If you are planning a visit to town this weekend, be sure to check it out.
The comittee for the Festival Sans Frontier, which is the “”Friends across the Border”” 4th of July Festival that is hosted by Jackman every other year, is gearing up for the 2007 festival. They are sponsoring a HALLOWEEN PARTY on Saturday October 21st in the Hall at John-s Four Season Accommodations.
8pm – midnight
Tickets are $6 per person; $10 per couple
There will be decorations and a DJ playing oldies and country music only.
Dressing up is optional. For more info and tickets, please contact Carol Bennett at 668-2011.
If you are in the Jackman area that weekend, or if you plan to be here for the 4th of July celebration In 2007, come on over, bring a costume and support the Festival comittee.
And for more Halloween fun…if you are in town October 28th, join the locals at the Northland!
Costumes…optional but more fun ❗ 😛
