What a fun weekend in Jackman. The Maine Moose Lottery Drawing was held here on June 11th, sponsored by the Town of Jackman and the JMRRCOC. Jackman was chosen for this event in 2020, then the pandemic happened. What an opportunity for this little town. It really was only a one day event but there were comedians and bands on Friday and Saturday also
We had a huge tent set up for demonstrations, a comedian, moose calling and a reading, and of course the drawing of 4000 names which started at 2pm.
We had around 50 vendors who participated, both local and from other towns selling handmade items, mounts, guide services, lodging and of course, food vendors offering hot doge, burgers, cotton candy, ice cream, pizza, and local maple products.
We even had a Moose Monster truck giving rides to kids and adults, Timber Tina demonstrating ax throwing and log sawing, and a bouncy house and games for the kids.
Our local “friend of the Forest” Moose made his rounds all day long entertaining guests.
So if you are driving through town before July 4th, look up at the poles, you may see a moose or 21 along the way.
