Big Wood Ice Out contest 2015

Will we have a winner this year? Last year, Ice Out was on May 7th and no one chose that date.

So how does one choose the date? We had a lot more snow last year but was it as cold ❓ Will the colder than normal temperatures we had but also less snow than we usually have affect the Ice Out date? We shall see.

SO let the guessing begin.
The deadline to post your vote this year is 8am on April 15th, 2015.

So how this will work:
Add a comment to this post with your guess as to the date the ice will go out this year. We can only accept one date per person. If you post the same date that is already posted, your post will not be recognized. If more then one person chooses a date before I can approve their comment, I will go by who posted the comment first.

The winning date will be what the Town of Jackman records as the ice out date for 2015. Whomever chooses that date, will win 50% off one night when they stay with us 2 or more days. This offer will expire March 31, 2016.

Please Note: Only one discount permitted per stay at Cozy Cove Cabins and our same discount rules apply. (payment by check or cash, cabin minimum must be met, you must mention you saw this on our blog when you make the reservation)

Watch our webcam for signs of change. In a couple weeks, when it warms up, we are planning to move our webcam back outside so that all will have a better view of Hog Island and the lake. That may help you with your decision.
GOOD LUCK ❗

Happy Spring 2015

jackman-blog-ccc

Winter is going out like a lion here in Jackman. The temp is about 2 degrees and the wind 😯 Bitter cold out there!

There were so many people out on the trails this past weekend…everyone thinking it would be their last ride but alas, winter is still here even though they say it is spring. 😆

SO do not put those sleds away yet. Plenty more riding opportunities.

Big storm 2015-Trail Report

jackman-blog-ccc

Hard to believe with all the snow the northeast had this year so far that on Saturday, March 14th was our biggest storm of the year here in Jackman. We got 14 to 20 inches overnight.

Add this to our incredible snow base on the trails already and we should have good riding well into April. All of our groomers are working good and have been working their magic on our trails. The only trail report needed here is that they are all AWESOME ❗ from Jackman to Pittston to Rockwood and down to lake Parlin.

March madness 2015

WOW is it cold! Friends in Pa are bragging that their winter is done and the grass is showing. Not here in Jackman. 10 degrees this morning and snow is everywhere. More snow due this weekend.

Don-t put the sled away yet. Plenty of great riding, probably well into April.
